Tofino is a small tourist town on the West Coast of Vancouver Island in British Columbia, Canada. It is located in Clayoquot Sound with five beautiful local beaches that provide great surf year round. With a small population of 1,800, this old fishing town now receives over 1,000,000 tourists annually.

The most important issue facing Surfrider Tofino is commercial tourism development of Tofino's beaches. The popularity of Tofino as a tourism hotspot is threatening the very beaches which people from around the world come to visit. Surfrider Tofino is actively involved in minimizing these impacts and ensuring coastal beach integrity, clean water and beach access for all.
