organizing it, Pacific Sands for hosting the bbq and Breakers for
the great food and drinks - we managed to raise some good funds for

A big thanks for all those that helped clean up South Chesterman on
Monday and to Breakers

not only picked up the usual trash (cigarette butts, glass, plastic...)
but also 4 big fish nets and an old crab trap. Good job everyone,
the ocean critters love you.

International Surfing Day 2008
Where: Cox Bay, south of the public access trail
When: June 20, 2008 6pm-8pm
Surfrider Tofino hosted a Beach BBQ at Cox Bay
celebrating International Surfing Day, where a good 50 locals and
visitors (small kids, big kids and their dogs!) celebrated our ocean
and sport. The waves were small but glassy and some feasted before
their surf, and some after! Thanks to Trish at Breakers
Deli for ordering the burgers and Ron for flipping all afternoon!
Also to the District of Tofino for lending us their tent - however
we did not use it as it was nice out! Thanks also to Surfrider Vancouver
and Victoria
for showing up, helping out and next year we'll do it again!
